About me

I have over 30 years experience of working with individuals and couples as counsellor, psychotherapist, coach, supervisor and trainer. My model of therapy is humanistic integrative, incorporating a number of models including: Person Centred, Psychodynamic, CBT, Systemic, Solution Focused, NLP, Narrative and others. Born in South Africa, I have lived in the UK since 1973, am married and have two adult children, a son and a daughter. In addition to my private practice, I run a multicultural counselling agency working with Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority clients, for which I have developed a multicultural counselling model. My qualifications include a Masters in Counselling (Supervision & Training) and a PhD exploring the impact of successful therapy - in particular the role of the hero and scapegoat archetypes. Titled: Heroes (Scapegoats) and the Collective Need: Learning from Stories of Therapy (2011). In 2019, I took up part-time post of Project Manager for Exeter Communities together.
