About me
My clinical practice is focused on hip and knee problems, achieving the best possible outcome for each patient. I use custom-made implants where appropriate and will tailor each treatment, operation and aftercare for each patient. Taking time to get to know my patients means they are engaged with their treatment, well-informed and leave with a good understanding of the best way forward.
In 2020 I was appointed as the Clinical Lead Consultant in my NHS department at the Royal London Hospital.
I am Fellowship-trained in hip and knee surgery and complex trauma surgery as well. I have experience of treating patients with complex needs, including medical problems, complex pain problems and high-functioning individuals.
I have published research articles in Enhanced Recovery and have led guideline-development for others to use to improve patient care and patient experience. I collaborate as an International Consultant on the subject of peri-operative care. I work with a number of therapists around London and the UK and will always recommend the most suitable practice for the individual patient.
My network includes the best colleagues where related specialist care is required.
My NHS practice is based at The Royal London Hospital, a large teaching hospital, one of the four Trauma Centres in London and part of Barts Health. There, I carry out complex or challenging hip and knee replacement surgery and accept referrals from surgeons around the region. The majority of this work is for revision hip surgery where hip replacements have developed problems which I need to address.
My practice includes hip and knee replacements related to trauma, fractures and injuries.
I am also an Honorary Senior Lecturer for Queen Mary University. I supervise a number of Orthopaedic Surgeons in training, with some undertaking an MSc and others within two recognised training programmes.
