About me
Dr Neeraj Bhala is a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. He is an Associate Medical Director with an interest in Patient Safety and Informatics.
Dr Bhala has a Clinical and research background from Newcastle upon Tyne, Edinburgh, West Midlands, Oxford (DPhil), and London as well as previously being a consultant/senior lecturer in Wellington, New Zealand. He is on Executive Committee of Midlands Gastroenterological Society and is the current British Society of Gastroenterology Gastroduodenal Section Secretary and involved in national policy and guideline work.
Dr Bhala is also an active Fellow of multiple Royal Colleges including being a Physicians of Edinburgh Link Fellow, and Senior Fellow at the University of Birmingham, where he takes part in undergraduate & postgraduate training and research.
Areas of interest
General and specialist treatment of common gastrointestinal and liver diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome and cancer prevention.
