About me

I’m a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in first time and re-do (revision) hip and knee replacements, knee arthroscopy and injections of both hips and knees.

After completing my training in Yorkshire, I undertook two years of specialist fellowships. The first, as the John Charnley fellow at Wrightingon Hospital, under Professor Peter Kay and Professor Martin Porter. Thereafter I was the British Orthopaedic Association Transitional Fellow in Airedale. My NHS practice is based in Barnsley Hospital.

I have been awarded a doctorate in which I studied leg length inequality following total hip replacement. I remain actively involved in research in Barnsley.

I also have an interest in sports medicine. I am lead doctor for Leeds Tykes and a medical officer for Leeds Rhinos. I have recently been appointed to the faculty of the Rugby Football League ptichiside care course.
