About me
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist working with individuals, couples and young adults. I also provide clinical supervision for qualified and trainee counsellors.
I have been working in private practice for the last 13 years and have an office based consulting room in St Albans, Hertfordshire.
My experience is varied, having worked both in the private and public sector. My couple training and practice was gained whilst working with Relate. I worked in an Employee Assistance Programme for many years so I have experience of working with employees, many facing work related stress and trauma alongside personal difficulties. I provide one to one counselling or longer term psychotherapy to people who are struggling with a range of issues. Here are some themes I regularly work with anxiety, depression, abuse, bereavement, loneliness, relationship difficulties, divorce and separation, sexual identity, loss of confidence, looking for meaning in life, ill health, redundancy and retirement.
I am an affiliate counsellor for several insurance companies so I'm used to working with clients who have a limited number of sessions available.
I am a warm, compassionate professional who is passionate about individuals and couples being the best they can be. I have a particular interest in working with relationship problems, loss and work related difficulties. I find it particularly rewarding to work with clients from diverse ethnic backgrounds and sexuality, as well as across age ranges.
