About me

Dr Campbell is a qualified Consultant Clinical Psychologist, chartered by the British Psychological Society, Registered with the Health Professions Council, and is an Associate Fellow of The British Psychological Society with extensive experience in Adult Mental Health.

He is currently employed as the Associate Director of Psychological Professions by one of the largest NHS Trusts in England. This means that he is professionally responsible for more than 700 staff providing psychological services within that Trust.

Dr Campbell has more than 20 years experience providing therapy, for various emotional and mental health problems, to service users and supervision to professionals in both the NHS and the private sector and utilises various types of therapy including CBT, EMDR, psychodynamic therapies and interpersonal therapies.

He specialises in anxiety, post traumatic stress, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), stress, and self esteem issues amongst various other problems.

In the past he has been the NHS-England regional clinical lead for all NHS Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) Services in Greater Manchester, Cheshire & Merseyside.

He has also worked as a Clinical Lead in Mental Health Liaison for the Cheshire & Merseyside Strategic Clinical Network under the auspices of NHS England. In this role he was responsible for clinical leadership on the psychological aspects of medical procedures and physical health care. This role involved producing best practice guidance for psychological abreactions to medical procedures as well as medically unexplained symptoms.

He also has extensive experience in providing psychological assessments and preparing medico-legal reports for civil proceedings. He has also worked as a reviewer for the Cochrane Collaboration and was a lecturer in research methods and statistics before training as a clinical psychologist.
