About me

I qualified from Newcastle University in 2001 and then went on to complete my basic and higher surgical training in the Northern region where I specialised in breast and reconstructive surgery. I trained in all the major breast screening units in the North East, gaining great experience in the management of breast cancer.

Prior to becoming a consultant, I was appointed to a national advanced reconstructive/cosmetic fellowship at the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. Techniques I learnt are incorporated to improve cosmetic outcome following breast cancer surgery. I commenced practice as a consultant general surgeon with a specialist interest in breast and reconstructive surgery in 2013 at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. I was appointed as a consultant at Gateshead Health NHS foundation trust in 2016. My private practice is identical to conditions treated in my NHS practice. I live in Newcastle with my wife and 2 children. I enjoy sports, particularly running and cycling.
