About me
Mr Alastair Fry is an award winning UK trained and accredited Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at one of the UKs most prestigious Teaching Hospitals, Guys and St Thomas’s. Alastair has a special interest in Head and Neck Surgery and reconstruction and a practice which also includes oral surgery procedures, wisdom tooth surgery, and salivary gland surgery.
Alastair is a leading expert in the management of mouth cancers and has published and presented at international conferences on jaw surgery and reconstruction, and has also a special interest in the early diagnosis and minimally invasive management of oral cancers and “pre cancers” with the use of laser surgery.
Alastair has conducted research in to the mechanisms of early invasion of mouth cancers which led to a prestigious Royal College of Surgeons Fellowship. After a period of time at the Internationally acclaimed New York Memorial Sloane Kettering Hospital, Alastair was successful in obtaining and completing a highly competitive National Head and Neck Surgery Fellowship which gave advanced training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Plastic Surgery and ENT, relevant to head and neck surgery.
Alastair has multiple publications in peer review journals and his work has been awarded a national prize from the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Alastair’s recent innovations have centred on reducing side effects of surgery, utilising minimally invasive techniques which can avoid the facial scars that occur in traditional approaches.
