About me

I undertook my adult nurse training DipHE at St Richards Hospital, Chichester with the University of Surrey in 2005. I qualified in 2008 and began working at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead. I initially worked on the specialist plastic reconstructive & maxillofacial wards, before moving onto the high-dependency ‘step-down unit’ (now known as Enhanced Recovery Area). In this unit I cared for patients undergoing major reconstructive surgery, such as breast reconstruction. During this time I undertook a part-time BSc(Hons) degree in Acute Clinical Practice specialising in plastic surgery and breast cancer. I have also done a Principles of Breast Cancer Care module (Masters) at the Royal Marsden. I obtained my current post as Macmillan Breast Reconstruction Clinical Nurse Specialist in 2012, I actually did my training with Pam Golton and have worked alongside her throughout my career at QVH.I have been trained as a micropigmentation practitioner since 2011 and run both NHS and private clinics. I am a trustee and secretary for the breast reconstruction charity Restore. I help to run the show & tell information events run by Restore every other month at QVH, I find being able to support women contemplating and going through breast reconstruction so rewarding. I am proud to work with such a wonderful breast team consisting of consultant plastic surgeons, secretaries, specialist nurses, and other allied health professionals who all have the same ethos and strive for outstanding patient care.
