About me

Miss Chandran is a highly skilled and accomplished Consultant Ophthalmologist with over 25 years of extensive experience in the field of Ophthalmology. Her specialist interests include Medical Retina conditions such as Age-related Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Retinal Vein Occlusions, as well as high-volume and complex cataract surgery.

As the Clinical Lead for the service, Miss Chandran has played a pivotal role in establishing the High-Volume Cataract Surgery Hub at Heatherwood Hospital. In addition, she serves as the Regional Clinical Lead for the South East, where she has been instrumental in driving the digital transformation of the cataract surgery pathway across the region.

Miss Chandran is also actively involved in clinical research and has served as both Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigator in numerous clinical trials. Her research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals within the field of Medical Retina. A recognised authority in her specialty, she has presented her work at national and international conferences, reflecting her commitment to advancing clinical excellence and innovation in Ophthalmology.
