About me
I am a BACP accredited counsellor with over 15 years experience of counselling a range of clients.
I am a warm and compassionate person and I offer you a welcoming, safe and accepting space where we can explore your concerns. My approach is professional and respectful and we will work at your pace to explore your experiences such that you may gain understanding, insight and perspective that will help you to move forward. I work collaboratively to help you to find your own path; I will not tell you what to do, rather we will work together to find what is right for you. Working ethically is fundamental to my practice.
I have over 15 years experience of working as a counsellor, both in the NHS based within GP practices and in private practice. I have worked with a huge range of client issues from anxiety and depression to sexual abuse and identity issues.

I work from a cosy, centrally located room with free parking at the Raylor Centre on James Street in York, and also the Eversley Park Centre in Sherburn in Elmet. I also offer online sessions via Zoom.
I have previously been a part time lecturer at York St John University, teaching on the Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling. Prior to training as a counsellor I worked had a career in HR, training and development.
