About me
Having previously worked as Clinical Psychologist in the NHS, I value working collaboratively with people to improve their psychological well-being and quality of life. I use a range of therapeutic approaches and work with you to decide on the type of input that will feel most relevant and helpful to you.
I have several years experience from within NHS adult mental health services and can offer psychological therapy regarding anxiety, depression, OCD, eating difficulties, relationship difficulties, the impact of abuse and work around trauma.
I have also worked within NHS physical health services, offering psychological therapy input for people experiencing Chronic Pain, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and Cancer diagnoses. I also have experience of working in Weight Management services within the private sector.
My approach when working with physical health difficulties is to work with you to manage the psychological impact of your health condition.
More recently I have an also undertaken adult diagnostic assessments for ADHD. I am interested in the broader theme of neurodiversity and welcome referrals from clients looking to explore this area further.
I draw on a range of therapeutic models in order to tailor my work to the individual. In general my work draws third-wave Cognitive Behaviour Therapy ( mindfulness based interventions and ideas from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) as well as ideas from Compassion Focused Therapy.
