About me

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy:-

I am a BABCP (British Association of Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapy) accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. I worked as a CBT therapist in the NHS for over twelve years prior to setting up in private practice in 2017.

Special Interest in OCD:-

During my career in the NHS, I was involved as a CBT therapist in a clinical trial investigating the efficacy/role of CBT in treating OCD; I have a specialist interest and extensive experience working with people suffering from OCD.

Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy:-

I am qualified in delivering mindfulness-based psychotherapy having attained a post graduate diploma (with distinction) in Mindfulness Based Approaches from Bangor University in 2018.

I can offer CBT in it's pure form, or CBT with a mindful element; these two treatments really do compliment each other. There is sound scientific evidence that mindfulness meditation is a therapeutic tool, effective in treating a wide range of mental health problems, including anxiety and depression.

I am qualified as a practitioner of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing).
EMDR is most widely known for treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It is widely used by the NHS, charitable organisations and private sector, and the Ministry of Defence use EMDR to help service personnel with PTSD.
