Career & Qualifications

Jason is a Clinical Psychologist chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a BABCP accredited CBT Therapist. Jason obtained his Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at University College London (UCL) and completed his specialist training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IOPPN), King’s College London where he was trained by some of the world’s leading experts in CBT. Jason has extensive clinical experience in adult mental health and has specific interests in the application of CBT, Mindfulness, and Humanistic Emotion-focused Therapy (EFT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, somatic experiencing Approaches and EMDR in the treatment of Depression, Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, Eating Disorders and other common mental health problems. His current research interest are on innovative treatment approaches for depressive thinking styles and creative provision of psychological treatment of mental health conditions for patients with long-term physical illnesses and he has published on the subject.

Jason has a strong background in Neuropsychology and has completed a Masters degree in Cognitive Neuropsychology at Birkbeck College, University of London. He has worked as a Neuropsychologist, offering needs assessment, treatment and consultations for neuro-rehabilitation of Acquired Brain Injuries (ABIs) and Stroke-related impairments. He also routinely provides neuropsychological assessments for differential diagnosis of the common causes of cognitive impairment (e.g. Dementia, Adult ADHD, and Dyslexia) .

Currently, Jason works as a Principal Clinical Psychologist in the London Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.



Clinical expertise

Jason has a dual-expertise in psychological treatment for adult individuals and neuropsychological assessment. Therapeutically, Jason is skilled in working integratively, using psychodynamic, humanistic and emotion-focused therapy, CBT, Mindfulness and Compassion-focused, somatic experiencing and EMDR approaches, delivered on the basis of a holistic understanding of an individual from a psychoanalytic perspective.

He is most experienced in treating complex depression, anxiety disorders (including OCD, social/performance anxiety, hypochrondriasis, post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD, panic disorders, and various specific phobias), psychosexual problems for individuals and couples, chronic loneliness due to attachment difficulties, and mental health problems related to long-term health conditions (e.g. chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndromes, multiple sclerosis, heart failure and COPD). Jason also has a particular interest in the neuropsychological assessment of cognitive problems and neurorehabilitation.

Jason is able to conduct psychological assessment and therapy in both English and Cantonese.
