About me

I am an adult consultant psychiatrist. I qualified in 1983 from Guy's Hospital Medical School and undertook postgraduate training in Psychiatry and General Practice, and then worked for just over 20 years as a part-time General Practitioner while bringing up my family. I returned to practice psychiatry in 2009 working mainly in a community mental health team. I tailor my management to the needs of each individual patient incorporating medication, psycho-education, counselling, EMDR and the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy.

I am a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and of the Royal College of General Practitioners and I am approved under the Mental Health Act for Section 12 assessments.

Areas of interest

As a general adult consultant psychiatrist, I diagnose and treat most conditions including Stress disorder; Anxiety disorders; Panic disorder; Phobias; Post Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD); Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD); Affective disorders; Depression; Bipolar disorder; and Alcohol misuse.
