About me
Dr Bharath is an expert fellowship trained musculoskeletal radiologist.
He studied medicine at Christ Church, University of Oxford. During his undergraduate studies he conducted research into cartilage physiology in the lab of Professor Robert Wilkins. Dr Bharath continued his clinical studies the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, during which time he also under took an elective in trauma surgery at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital in South Africa.
Following foundation doctor training in medicine, surgery and orthopaedics, Dr Bharath won a highly competitive academic clinical fellowship in radiology at the University of Nottingham gaining a post graduate certificate in translational neuroimaging.
Dr Bharath then completed his standard radiology training the Leeds Radiology Academy. Here he obtained the fellowship of the royal college of radiologists and gained specialist skills in musculoskeletal radiology at Chapel Allerton Hospital and the Leeds General Infirmary.
Further subspecialist training was then undertaken at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham where Dr Bharath gained experience in advanced image guided musculoskeletal interventions such as complex CT guided spinal injections and bone ablations.
Dr Bharath’s NHS practice is at Airedale General Hospital where he has established a full MSK interventional radiology service. He works closely with orthopaedic surgeons, rheumatologists and MSK doctors to offer a wide range of minimally invasive image guided therapies including hydrodilatation, tendon and joint injections and spinal nerve root blocks.
Dr Bharath has developed a specialist interest in conditions affecting the shoulder and works along with specialist orthopaedic shoulder surgeons, in the first ‘one-stop’ shoulder clinic of its kind.
