He completed a surgical rotation as a junior doctor at Broomfield Hospital. Mr Lawrence then started Specialist Registrar Training on the East Anglian training programme in 2008, rotating through different hospitals in the region. Whilst a senior trainee in Cambridge, he was the Chief Resident for the Musculoskeletal Directorate and Cambridge Orthopaedic Club Secretary.
Mr Lawrence passed the FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) examination in 2014. In 2015 he was awarded Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Trauma & Orthopaedics and was granted specialist recognition by the GMC.
