About me

Raelene has been practising in the area of Hand Therapy for the last 21 years.

She is an Accredited Hand Therapist with the British Association of Hand Therapy (BAHT) and has also completed post graduate qualifications in Injection Therapy, Acupuncture and Innovation in practice.

Raelene qualified as an Occupational Therapist at the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa) in 1996, and worked in private practise in South Africa, before she relocated to the UK in 2000.

Since making London her home, she has worked at several London Teaching hospitals in the area of hand therapy and for the past 17 years she has worked at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital where she is has been the Clinical Lead of the hand therapy department since 2013.

Raelene manages the treatment and rehabilitation of hand and wrist patients following trauma and elective surgery and also assesses and treats congenital hand anomalies and acquired conditions of adult and paediatric patients.

Raelene has presented on new innovative treatments in both European and British Hand Therapy conferences.
She also has had the opportunity to work with charitable organisations in developing countries Sierra Leone and rural parts of South Africa where she provided training to local therapists.
