About me

I am an integrative counsellor and psychosexual and relationship therapist. I use an integrative approach drawing on various therapeutic models such as psychodynamic, person centred, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy (SFT) EMDR and transcultural models.
I believe a long journey starts with a single step which I have learnt from my own journey. This has given me courage and the belief that every human being has the capability to develop and grow. However there are times we can lose touch with this capability and its rediscovery leads to a more satisfying life of our choosing.
I’m an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP Accred) and College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT Accred ) abide by their good practice and ethical framework.
Qualifications:
My most valuable qualifications have come from the university/college of life, where I learnt about myself, others, acceptance, respect and values to name a few. As well as these I also have the following more formal qualifications:
•Post graduate diploma in psychosexual counselling and relationship
•BA Degree in Integrative Counselling (CBT, CIB, PC and Psychodynamic).
•Foundation Degree, Integrative Counselling and Psychology
•Certificate in Counselling Skills and Theory
•Social care background (Access to Social Work certificate plus NVQS in Social Care and Housing)
Experience:
During the last nine years I have worked with a wide range of people and issues, both young people and adults, bringing issues including HIV and Aids and addictions to drugs and alcohol. I have also worked with adults and young people who come from dysfunctional families. In my spare time I have worked as volunteer counsellor with Mind mental healthy charity and Albany Trust, Off The Record Young People’s Project. I have also worked within the NHS supporting adults with learning difficulties as well as a psychosexual therapist in Kings College Hospital NHS Trust. Currently I work in private practice and as a disability consultant .
