About me

After graduating in medicine from India, I completed my basic surgical training in Ophthalmology from Glasgow and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London followed by higher specialist training from Aberdeen. After gaining CCT I completed a fellowship in Glaucoma surgery from the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham.

I have completed training in advanced glaucoma surgery including augmented trabeculectomy, aqueous-shunt procedures (Baerveldt) and laser treatment in glaucoma. I have performed more than 400 augmented trabeculectomies, more than 100 aqueous shunt procedures as well as micro incisional glaucoma surgery (Xen implants). I specialise in complex anterior segment surgery including cataract surgery.

I have gained recognition from the Royal College of Ophthalmology and trainee glaucoma fellow along with North-West deanery training programme. I hold memberships of the American academy of Ophthalmology, European Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, European glaucoma society, UK & Eire Glaucoma society and the Royal college of Ophthalmology.


I am service lead for glaucoma at the East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. I also provide a general Ophthalmology service including cataract surgery.

I have academic interest in open angle glaucoma and has published more than ten research papers. My aim is to provide highest standard of treatment in the most caring manner.
