About me
Mr Pierre Nasr is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery.
He treats adults with a wide range of hip and knee conditions, including hip and knee arthritis, hip and knee pain, meniscal tears and other common knee problems. His practice includes both non-surgical treatment and surgery, with treatment tailored to each patient's symptoms, activity level and individual needs.
His specialist interests include:

Mr Nasr qualified from Imperial College School of Medicine at St Mary's Hospital, London, in 2002, having previously completed a BSc at University College London. He undertook his specialist orthopaedic training in Oxford and Cambridge and was appointed Chief Resident in Trauma and Orthopaedics in Cambridge in 2012.
He subsequently undertook advanced fellowship training in Australia. At The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, he gained further experience in complex hip and knee surgery, major trauma and complex fractures of the pelvis and acetabulum. He then worked with the Western Australian Sarcoma Service in Perth, where his training included complex joint replacement, orthopaedic oncology and computer-navigated hip and knee surgery.
Mr Nasr returned to the UK in 2015 and was appointed Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Northampton General Hospital. He also has a senior leadership role within the hospital's trauma service.
He joined Three Shires Hospital in Northampton in 2016 and provides specialist assessment and treatment for patients with hip and knee conditions.
Mr Nasr has a particular interest in enhanced recovery following hip and knee replacement. Where clinically appropriate, he uses rapid-recovery pathways designed to allow patients to mobilise early and return home safely as soon as possible, including day-case surgery in selected patients.
He participates in the National Joint Registry and monitors the outcomes of his joint replacement surgery. He also works collaboratively with colleagues through the East Midlands South Specialist Orthopaedic Network (EMSSON), including multidisciplinary discussion of complex hip revision and hip resurfacing cases.
Alongside his hip and knee practice, Mr Nasr has extensive experience in trauma care. He has worked in motorsport medicine, including as a Medical Officer in Formula 1 and as Chief Medical Officer at Silverstone Circuit. He is also an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) instructor and holds the Diploma in Immediate Medical Care from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
