Dr Goawalla studied medicine at Guy's & St Thomas' medical school in London and after qualifying as a doctor in 1999, she completed most of my post-graduate surgical training at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. Then, whilst continuing to undertake complex cataract surgery, she went on to additionally specialise as an oculoplastic surgeon through fellowships undertaken in Brighton and Cardiff, Wales. She became a consultant ophthalmologist in 2013, initially taking up Locum Consultant posts at Ipswich hospital, Moorfields Eye Hospital and King's College Hospital. Since January 2017, She has been in a substantive consultant post at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, based at The Western eye hospital in Central London
Her main base for private patients is at The London Clinic (119 Harley street) and at The Cromwell Hospital (Kensington, London)
