About me
I am a Consultant Adult Thoracic Surgeon working at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London. I qualified from Guy's, King's and St Thomas' medical school with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2006. During my medical degree I also achieved an integrated BSc in Psychology. Following medical school I went on to train in Cardiothoracic Surgery in specialist units at the Royal Brompton and Harefield and Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals. I became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Cardiothoracic surgery in 2015.
My specialist training has allowed me to achieve a high level of experience in both minimally invasive and complex open techniques. I have a particular interest in the management of anterior mediastinal masses and robotic thymectomy for myasthenia gravis. I also specialise in minimally invasive thoracic surgery and can offer patients robotic assisted lobectomy and segmentectomy for both malignant and benign disease, performing 90% of lung resections through a minimally invasive approach.
I have learned state of the art surgical treatment for lung cancer, mediastinal tumours, pulmonary metastases and complex thoracic cancers. This includes extensive experience in robotic surgery in which I train others within the UK and Europe.
Areas of interest
Robotic assisted surgery; Minimally invasive thoracic surgery; lung cancer; thymoma; thymic carcinoma; myasthenia gravis; VATS; Endobronchial laser and stenting; Navigational bronchoscopy; lung preservation surgery
