Research interests
In association with Imperial Collage London & Brown University Providence RI, my research focuses on the influence of intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP), on maternal and fetal hormone signalling, reflected in altered glucose & cholesterol metabolism.
Main Research findings:
ICP was associated with significantly reduced placental gene expression of 11β-HSD2 a protective enzyme involved in steroid metabolism
ICP is associated with an increased risk of developing Gestational Diabetes
