About me
Professor Chris Miller is Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and a Consultant Cardiologist in Manchester. He is an internationally recognised expert in heart diagnostic imaging (cardiac MRI and cardiac CT) and in the management of patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.
Professor Miller has over 20 years of clinical experience. He qualified in Medicine with Honours from Manchester in 2003, also completing a BSc degree in Human Physiology, graduating with First Class Honours. During his specialist cardiology training he spent time at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, and at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, USA, where he developed expertise in advanced heart imaging. His PhD focused on using cardiac MRI to diagnose heart transplant disease.
Professor Miller leads a large team of clinical researchers. His research focuses on detecting heart conditions earlier and more precisely, so that patients can be diagnosed earlier and treated more effectively, and on developing and evaluating new treatments. His team has published more than 100 research articles and book chapters. He is regularly invited to give talks about heart imaging and heart failure all over the world, and he has been awarded a number of prestigious international and national research fellowships and prizes. He holds senior leadership positions in Manchester and Nationally, guiding patient-centred research strategy, and has a keen interest in training cardiology trainees and medical students.
