About me
I have worked in the NHS for over ten years and have been qualified as a Clinical Psychologist since 2010. I have experience in working with a range of mental health difficulties in both adults and children. For the past six years I have primarily been working with children, adolescents and parents with a focus on anxiety disorders and the Autism spectrum. I use a mainly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach but also integrate my work with approaches such as mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
As a parent it is often daunting to think about bringing your child to see a psychologist and the young person themselves can be very anxious, not knowing exactly what it will be like. I have an honest approach and am always clear about what I think the difficulties are and what is needed to help the young person recover from them. I try to be flexible and creative in my approach, with a focus on making people feel at ease, particularly when I meet them for the first time.
