About me
Rachel is an experienced Clinical Psychologist, with over 20 years of NHS experience and 16 years of working as a clinical psychologist in various children’s services and settings, including Child & Adolescent Mental Health services (CAMHS), children’s social care, schools, and specialist paediatrics.
Rachel did her undergraduate psychology degree at University College London (UCL) and later went on to complete her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London, including completing her doctoral research into childhood trauma. She also has a post-graduate qualification in Supervision of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for children and young people.
Rachel’s special interests include working with children, adolescents and families, particularly where there are complex emotional difficulties in the life of a young person or family. She uses a variety of therapy models and approaches depending on the needs of the child and family, but has particular expertise and interest in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other compassion / mindfulness-based approaches, and working with parents and family systems. She has also completed training in Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP) to develop her interest in attachment-based therapy approaches.
