About me

Dr Motwani is a Consultant Cardiologist at Central Manchester University Hospital NHS Trust. He qualified with distinction from the University of Manchester. As well as all aspects of general cardiology, he specializes in non-invasive cardiac imaging including cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, echocardiography & advanced nuclear techniques. He has trained in several world-class academic & clinical centres including the Leeds Institute of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Medicine, UK and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, USA.

His research across a number of fields has won several international, national and regional prizes and he has published over 60 articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, as well as several book chapters. His PhD thesis studied advanced cardiac MRI techniques in coronary artery disease.

Dr Motwani sees patients with the full range of cardiology problems including coronary artery disease, hypertension, arrhythmia, heart failure and valvular heart disease, as well as patients being investigated for symptoms such as chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations and blackouts. He also has a strong interest in well-being screening & preventive cardiology performing highly accurate personalized risk assessments utilizing individual patient factors and coronary calcium scoring.

He emphasizes a caring and holistic approach, with thorough assessments, state-of-the-art non-invasive testing, clear explanations, and shared decision making.
