About me

He is a full-time NHS Consultant at The Royal Free Hospital, London, and sees patients privately at The Harley Street Clinic, The Wellington Hospital, The Mayo Clinic London and Spire Bushey Hospital.

Dr Kalra is widely recognised for his work in the treatment of coronary artery disease, including the management of angina, chest pain and heart attacks, and has a specialist interest in patients with complex or high-risk coronary narrowing who may benefit from advanced stenting techniques and precise image-guided treatment.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Kalra is a key opinion leader in complex PCI and intracoronary imaging, and plays a major leadership role in improving cardiovascular care across London. He is currently Chair of the Pan-London Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) Advisory Group (NHS London) and is involved in developing networked pathways to help patients receive timely, high-quality care.

Dr Kalra trained in medicine at the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London, and completed specialist cardiology training in the London Deanery. He also completed a PhD in Cardiovascular Medicine at King's College London, and remains actively involved in clinical research studies. He was elected a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) in 2023.
