About me

Rosie Howatson, young people and adult counsellor and supervisor with 25 years experience, offering online or telephone counselling. PG Diploma Counselling, Dipl Supervision, MBACP (Accred).

Sometimes life seems like a real struggle and it's difficult to understand how you can help yourself or those struggling in your family. You may be considering online or telephone counselling.

I am an accredited counsellor with over twenty years of experience counselling in psychological services in the NHS, voluntary and private sector.

Counselling offers a trusting relationship where a person can explore their past and present worries, and concerns and make sense of their thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Counselling is voluntary and at an initial meeting you can discuss what you want and decide if you wish to continue with further sessions. Sometimes people come for a few sessions yet others come for longer.

Clients come with many issues, relationships, anxiety, loss, stress, low self-esteem, trauma and abuse.

I am a warm, committed empathic person who is passionate about my counselling work and the value I see of offering a safe therapeutic space and relationship for individuals to work through difficult experiences. As a person centred counsellor I will give you time and a safe place to look at what is troubling you. I will not judge you or tell you what to do however I will listen very carefully to your story and support you to find your own answers and your chosen way forward.

Areas of interest

Counselling and supporting young people over 12 years old and witnessing them explore what has brought them to counselling and how they make the changes in their life to improve how they feel.
