About me

Dr Upul Fernando is a Consultant Physician and a Geriatrician at both Walsall Manor Hospital and Spire Little Aston Hospital. He holds dual accreditation in Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine on the GMC specialist register. Dr Fernando graduated in year 2000 and completed his postgraduate MD in Medicine 2006. He completed his MRCP London in 2009 and became a Fellow of Royal College of Physicians in 2016. He also holds MRCP in Geriatric medicine following successful completion in elderly care medicine training.
Dr Fernando is the lead for syncope, falls and Tilt Table testing at the Walsall Manor Hospital. He is a strong believer in a whole-person holistic approach to patient's care and specialises in Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (Comprehensive Assessment of Older Adults). Dr Fernando always putting patients and their families in the centre of the decision making process and helps them to regain control over their lives.
