About me
I have been working as a counselling psychologist since 2005 and have worked across a number of NHS settings. This includes providing a psychology service in GP practices and Primary Care settings, working alongside clinical psychologists in a Community Mental Health Team and a Psychological Therapies service. Throughout my training I also gained experience of working in the voluntary sector.
From 2015-2018 In addition to my private therapy practice, I also work in a Community Mental Health Team, working primarily with complex trauma; individual's diagnosed with personality disorder, psychosis, and moderate to severe depression and anxiety.
Since 2018 I have been working in Higher Education at the staff counselling service at UEA, helping staff manage work related stress, bereavement, the emotional impact of physical ill-health, depression, trauma, anxiety and relational difficulties.
I have a specialist interest and experience in working with developmental trauma, life crises and problems with stress and anxiety (including OCD, phobias and social anxiety).
My doctoral training in Counselling Psychology has equipped me with the skills, knowledge and experience to offer Cognitive- Behavioural Therapy, and Integrative Therapy. I have also completed further training in mindfulness-based CBT, Trauma focussed therapy and Compassion focused therapy.
