About me

I currently run my own private practice with adults of any gender, ethnic and cultural background.

As a Counselling Psychologist I have a diversity of skills that can adapt to the clients individual, and at times, complex needs. Each contract is negotiated individually, offering both brief and open-ended therapy. I have trained in Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural therapy and can apply tools from each of these approaches as deemed appropriate and are integrated within each session. However my natural approach is Psychodynamic, looking at past history to make sense of current behaviours. I also like to focus on the relationship between myself and the client in order to make sense of any relational difficulties they may be experiencing.
I especially like to apply the principles and practices of Mindfulness as this helps clients to start developing a health awareness of themselves. I also have a strong interest in somatic body trauma work and will encourage physical and creative expression that is felt beyond words.

I worked for Relate Mid-Wiltshire providing child counselling in 3 schools in a Wiltshire army town from ages 5yrs to 18yrs and providing some time to Relate Swindon for their Young Survivors project. Whilst I continued to work with younger clients in my private practice I have now opted to work with older young people and adults only now.
