I offer Bupa customers standard cataract surgery on the Full Pathway package option at Regency Eye Hospital .
This package includes your appointments before and after surgery, as well as your surgery and mono-focal lenses. It means you won’t use up your out-patient benefit or receive any additional bills from your surgeon (or anaesthetist, if you need one) for eligible treatment.

About me
Mr Pedro Muel-Gonzalez is a Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in high-volume and complex cataract surgery. He currently serves as a Lead Consultant for Cataract Surgery at Optegra and previously led the Cataract Surgery Service at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr Muel-Gonzalez performs over 2,500 cataract operations per year, operating on a near-daily basis across NHS and private practice. His practice includes routine and complex cataract surgery, including small pupils, pseudoexfoliation, post-vitrectomy eyes and other high-risk cases. He offers premium intraocular lens options, including toric lenses for astigmatism and advanced lens solutions tailored to individual visual needs.
In addition to cataract surgery, Mr Muel-Gonzalez has experience in ocular plastic surgery, management of watery eyes, and medical and laser treatment of glaucoma. He also provides comprehensive general ophthalmology care.
Mr Muel-Gonzalez is an Educational Supervisor accredited by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and is actively involved in training cataract surgeons across North West England. He regularly supervises complex cataract cases and contributes to national and international ophthalmology meetings.
He has also undertaken humanitarian work delivering complex cataract surgery in refugee settings in the African Sahara.
Mr Muel-Gonzalez is a member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society.
