Here's a refined, professional, and polished version of your profile. I've restructured it for clarity and flow, improved grammar and phrasing, ensured consistency, and made it more concise while retaining all key details. It's now suitable for a professional website, LinkedIn summary, CV, or clinic biography.
Professional Profile
I am a Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia since 2009, holding a Diploma in Lifestyle Medicine. I completed a highly competitive Pain Medicine Fellowship in the West Midlands (UK), training across a network of hospitals and hospices. This comprehensive programme covered all aspects of pain management. Additionally, I received specialised training from the British Institute of Musculoskeletal Medicine.
I am committed to evidence-based practice and adopt a holistic approach to chronic pain, integrating medication advice and a wide range of interventional procedures with guidance on diet, sleep, exercise, and lifestyle modification.
Special Interests
I manage all chronic pain conditions, with particular expertise and passion in:
Musculoskeletal and spinal pain
Chronic widespread pain and fibromyalgia
Abdominal and pelvic pain
Dermatological pain (including Epidermolysis Bullosa)
Lifestyle Medicine
Current Roles
I am currently based at University Hospitals Birmingham, one of the largest pain services in the UK. My roles include:
Regional Advisor in Pain Medicine for West Midlands, overseeing education and training across the region
Faculty Tutor for the Pain Medicine Fellowship training programme
Lead Clinician for Pelvic Pain Services
Lead Pain Clinician for the Birmingham Community Back and Neck Pain Clinic
Pain Consultant for the National Epidermolysis Bullosa Service (one of only two such specialist centres in the UK)
Active involvement in neuropathic pain research
I provide a comprehensive anaesthetic service, including emergency and high-risk cases. My pain medicine practice spans both secondary and community (primary) care settings.
Previous Experience
Prior to my current role, I worked as a Consultant at Warwick Hospital, where I played a key role in establishing a multidisciplinary pain service. I contributed to research, participated in the National Pain Audit, and developed a highly regarded national course on 'Examination of the Pain Patient'.
I relocated to University Hospitals Birmingham to develop and lead the Pelvic Pain Service.
