About me

Mr. Manoj Kumar is a Consultant General and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon based at the Albyn Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Fellow of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. He specialises in the management of gallbladder and gallstone disease, groin and abdominal wall hernias, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease and other gastrointestinal and General Surgical conditions.
His specialist interests include:

Alongside his surgical practice, Mr. Kumar is the Associate Director of Medical Education for Surgery at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and plays a leading role in improving patient safety and quality of care at a national level. He is the National Clinical Lead for NHS Education Scotland's Team-Based Quality Review Programme, working to enhance safety reviews and learning within healthcare teams.
He is also actively involved in medical education and training and serve in the following roles:

�?????Course Director for the Team-Based Quality Review Course at RCSEd

With a strong background in Human Factors in Healthcare, Mr. Kumar also holds a Master's degree in Patient Safety: A Human Factors Approach from the University of Aberdeen and has completed the Scottish Quality & Safety Fellowship. He has also completed the Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare Program from Harvard Medical School Executive Education.
