About me

I am a Registered and Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist with over 20 years experience. I have worked within private practice, the voluntary sector, university counselling services and the NHS. In addition to this I have experience of counselling service management, occupational health counselling, couples counselling, university lecturing and as a supervisor to trainee counselling psychology PhD students.

My approach is integrative in nature, drawing upon humanistic, psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, ACT and mindfulness approaches to human suffering and well-being. For me, the therapeutic relationship is of central importance to the unfolding work that we do together as therapist and client. With this in mind I feel that it is important to adapt ways of working to the individual needs of each client. I abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
