About me

I was appointed as a Consultant in Anaesthetics and Pain Medicine at Ninewells Hospital in 2010. In my Anaesthetic practice I routinely provide general or regional anaesthesia for patients undergoing Gynaecological, Plastic, General and Orthopaedic surgery.

I have a major interest in both Acute and Chronic pain management. I treat patients with a wide variety of acute pain problems in hospital and provide regular out-patient Pain clinics for the assessment and management of chronic pain.

I perform a wide variety of minimally invasive interventional pain management procedures for the treatment of back pain, sciatica, musculoskeletal pain, trigeminal neuralgia and peripheral nerve pain. I have a particular interest in minimally invasive interventional treatments for the management of pain from hip, knee and shoulder pain when surgery is not an option.

I believe that early assessment and utilising a multi-modal approach to treatment using physical, pharmacological and minimally invasive interventional approaches offers the best chance of a quick recovery and successful treatment.
