About me
Mr Chattopadhyay graduated from the Medical College, Kolkata, India in 1997. He completed his postgraduate gynaecology and obstetrics training in Kolkata, India and then came to the Northeast of England, where he completed his obstetrics and gynaecology specialist training in different centres on the Teesside and the Tyneside.
He spent two and a half years at the Northern Gynaecological Oncology Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead, where he completed his research on prognostic markers in endometrial cancer and intra-operative fluid optimisation in surgery for advanced gynaecological cancer.
Following this he completed a two year subspecialty fellowship in gynaecological oncology at the St. James’s University Hospital, Leeds. He is experienced in the management of all gynaecological cancers and vulval and cervical pre-cancer.
He has a special interest in developing advanced laparoscopic techniques and the multidisciplinary surgical approach to advanced ovarian cancer surgery.
Mr Chattopadhyay currently practices in general gynaecology and specialises in gynaecological oncology and colposcopy.
His practice philosophy is to provide holistic care that meets the highest clinical standards and is best known for his good communication and thoroughness to provide individualized care and helping his patients make well informed decisions.
Mr Chattopadhyay offers a wide range of services in general gynaecology, including, management of menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, menopausal problems, endometriosis. Mr Chattopadhyay also offers colposcopy, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy (key-hole procedure) for treatment of ovarian cysts in addition to total laparoscopic hysterectomy and open hysterectomy procedures.
Mr Chattopadhyay specialises in surgical treatment of endometrial (womb) cancer, cervical cancer, ovarian cancer and vulval cancer.
