About me

Jointly appointed as a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust and The Princess Alexandra Hospital Harlow, Rishi Bhandari is very much a “hands-on” consultant, treating patients for a wide range of Oral and Maxillofacial conditions.
In addition to managing his own patients, Rishi is extensively involved in the education and training of junior doctors at all levels. As educational lead on a number of key surgical training courses, this ensures that his own professional skills are constantly updated to reflect current best practice in the areas of surgical procedure and patient safety.
Rishi’s areas of special interest and current experience are the surgical extraction of complex and wisdom teeth, excision, biopsy and reconstruction of malignant and non-malignant lesions to the mouth, head and neck, facial trauma, scar management and the non-surgical management of TMJ disorders,
Experience has taught that most patients are particularly anxious when it comes to face and mouth surgery - particularly tooth extractions and in acknowledging this, his philosophy is to run an informative and informal practice, which places patient choice at the centre of its ethos. In practice, this translates to spending time with you, offering you access to all appropriate investigations to help fully understand your condition and discussing clearly the range of treatment options available to you (including the option to not treat!), to support you in coming to decisions that are right for you.
Recognised and able to undertake direct billing with Aviva, AXA PPP (Including AXA Oral Surgery Network, Simply Health and Health Online), BUPA, CIGNA, Vitality and WPA, the practice also offers competitive pricing packages for self-funding patients.
Rishi is supported by Diane his practice manager. Formerly practice manager for Professor Simon Holmes prior to his retirement, Diane has over 15 years experience of managing private patient care and is always happy to talk to prospective patients and referrers alike to discuss how we can best support you.
