About me
Dr Gharib has been a Consultant Haematologist since 2005. He has a long and broad experience in diagnosing and treating benign and malignant blood disorders including anaemias, lymphomas and myelomas since 1998. Dr Gharib lead the thrombosis and anti-coagulation team in STHK NHS Trust. He established modern anticoagulation practice with Direct Oral Anticoagulants which replaced Warfarin old fashion anticoagulation therapy. Dr. Gharib has a special interested in studying and managing patients' risk of thrombosis. He was the local principal investigator for the first national trial looking at treating cancer induced thrombosis with the new oral anti-coagulant, Rivaroxaban.
Dr. Gharib has a broad background experience in internal medicine from 1991 to 1998. This provided foundation in analysing patients symptoms and wider horizon in diagnosis and management.
He has published a wide range of research papers, case reports and textbook chapters and prides himself in the level of clinical and patient care.

Thrombosis and haemostasis (tendency to bruising and blood clots), Anaemias, Lymph node lumps (including Lymphoma).
