About me
Mr Punwar graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine (London) in 2001 and completed his specialist orthopaedic training in Bristol. He was appointed as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon at University Hospital Lewisham in September 2019. He is the current Clinical Director of the Lewisham&Greenwich NHS Trust orthopaedic unit. He previously spent 4 years as a Consultant at Torbay Hospital in Devon. Elective Specialist interests include; Knee and Hip Arthroplasty, Sports Knee Injuries, especially ACL reconstruction and meniscal surgery.
Mr Punwar understands how disabling hip and knee problems can be. He aims to provide safe, effective treatment to reduce pain and rapidly improve quality of life.
Academic background
Mr Punwar is a fellowship trained hip and knee specialist, with interests in both joint replacement and sports surgery, as well as general orthopaedic trauma. After basic surgical training in Kent and the London region, Mr Punwar completed his specialist orthopaedic training on the prestigious Bristol rotation. In 2013 he undertook a year of complex arthroplasty and sports injury training in Perth, Western Australia (http://thejointstudio.com.au).

Mr Punwar supervises and trains medical students and is a Honorary Senior Lecturer at King's College London.
