About me

Understanding mental health has been my passion and area of work for 40 years. I began working as a care assistant in a large psychiatric hospital at the age of 17. I went on to train as a mental health social worker an worked in South London community based mental health services for 25 years. I trained in psychotherapy and counselling approaches at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy (CCPE) in the 90s and before qualifying as a CBT psychotherapist in 2011. I have also trained in Cognitive Hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
I aim to adapt my approach to the individual needs, personality and life experiences of each client and draw on my knowledge of many therapy approaches, such as Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
