About me

I have graduated from Leicester - Warwick Medical School in 2004 And completed my Specialist Orthopaedic training in West Midlands, on the Warwick Orthopaedic Training Programme. I completed further, advanced Training at Oxford, a center of Excellence in Orthopaedic Research. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedics in February 2013 I obtained his GMC Certification of Completion of training (CCT) in September of 2014.

Areas of interest

During my training I developed an interest in hip pain in all age groups. I manage hip pain non surgically, and surgically, aiming to preserve the natural joint, wherever possible.
My recent experience involves minimally invasive hip surgery. He utilises a new approach, (DIRECT SUPERIOR APPROACH). This approach spares ALL the muscles that are essential for normal gait, which means that the rehabilitation is faster and the chances of developing abnormal gait (Trendelenburg gait) are significantly reduced. This in conjuction with a small scar (minimally invasive surgery) improves satisfaction, speeds up return to baseline activity and reduces the length of stay in hospital.

I have been appointed as the Clinical Service Lead for Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Trauma at UHB. In this role i am developing new pathways and policies that aim to make the department more modern, and efficient so that it can provide an excellent standard of care for the local population.
