I held a variety of posts over my 20 years in the NHS, working in adult mental health, medical services and in GP practices.
Research interests
I have research interests and experience in the following:
1) Psychological adjustment to chronic physical health conditions;
2) The effect of mental and physcial health problems on cognitive funcitoning;
2) The influence of expecations of therapy on engagement with therapy and outcome:
3) The role of self-efficacy in outcome from self help interventions
Personal interests
I enjoy sports such as mountain biking, springboard diving and hockey, and like to travel when work permits.

Courses offered to GPs
I have a specific interest in training healthcare staff in managing complex and challenging patients with comorbid physical and mental health conditions. I have delivered training to different staff teams including those in infectious diseases and sexual health.
