About me
I have been a Consultant Vascular Surgeon in Cambridge since 2012 and I am a recognised expert in the treatment of varicose veins, leg ulcers and deep vein disorders. I have been actively involved in research into venous disorders for 15 years and speak regularly at national and international conferences.
I specialise in the treatment of varicose veins, thread veins and deep vein disorders. I regularly use the latest minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins (including radiofrequency ablation, glue treatment and foam sclerotherapy) and the latest stenting technology for narrowed or blocked deep veins. Working in one of the busiest Vascular units in the UK, I also have extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of aortic / iliac aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease / claudication and carotid disease.
Over the last 12 years, I have performed over 1,500 keyhole varicose vein procedures. Having worked in specialist leg ulcer clinics and conducted a number of research studies, I have specific expertise in the holistic treatment of skin damage and leg ulcers due to venous disease.
I maintain a very active research program and hold an Honorary Senior Lectureship at Imperial College London and Associate Lectureship at the University of Cambridge.
I am a proctor for varicose vein and deep vein procedures and regular train other professionals in these techniques. I am a faculty member for several large vascular meetings, allowing me to keep up to date with the latest treatment advances.
