About me
I was the first Urologist to be appointed to Wirral in 1993, having initially worked and studied in Liverpool and then after being awarded a Doctorate in Medicine, moved to Edinburgh as a Lecturer in Urology, in order to complete my training.
Throughout the years I have gained extensive experience in most branches of Urology. I have also maintained a keen research interest and have published more than 70 papers in scientific journals. Either myself or trainees have been awarded 15 research prizes at regional, national and international meetings.
During my career I have introduced a number of new treatments to Merseyside and the North West. I recently became the first Urologist in the UK to offer ExactVu micro-ultrasound for transrectal scanning, which provides a 300% improvement in resolution over conventional transrectal ultrasound. Each year I receive a large number of expressions of gratitude from patients and relatives, usually thanking me for the personal level of service I have provided and for attempting to offer continuity of care.
I live with my wife, a GP, in Heswall and my outside interests include golf and hill walking with my dogs.
