About me
Lucy is a Specialist Dietitian in Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), other gut disorders and weight management. She trained in Cardiff and qualified as a registered dietitian in 2004. Lucy has many years of experience working in the NHS and in private practice. She founded her freelance business in 2016 working alongside Nuffield Health to make evidence-based nutrition and dietary advice accessible to people with IBS and other gut conditions.
Lucy’s passion for improving healthcare led her in 2017 to apply for and secure a prestigious Health Education England (HEE)/ National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) studentship completing a Master’s in Clinical Research (MClinRes) at the University of Plymouth (First-class degree). In 2019 she was awarded a research internship and worked as a research dietitian at University Hospitals Plymouth until 2021, and as Specialist Dietitian in IBD/Gastroenterology until 2022.
After a rewarding 18 years in NHS service, Lucy left to work fulltime in her freelance consultancy business. She is recognised as a specialist in the management of IBS and other gut conditions. Lucy has completed the King’s College London low FODMAP and using this advanced dietetic approach has successfully advised numerous clients with IBS. Lucy is also passionate about weight management and provides bespoke nutritional advice and food planning to help achieve realistic weight loss goals.
When faced with illness or a specific health concern, or simply looking to improve overall well-being, interpreting complex information and advice about diet can require specialist help and support which Lucy provides in a non-judgemental, supportive and empathetic way.
