About me
I specialise in managing gut disorders and I have over 20 years of experience in dietetics. I offer 1:1 appointments either by video or telephone bookable through my website.
I trained at Cardiff University and qualified as a registered dietitian in 2004. I have worked in a variety of clinical areas in dietetics before specialising as a gastroenterology dietitian in 2007. In 2016 I set up my own freelance business working alongside Nuffield Health, with the aim of making evidence-based nutrition and dietary advice accessible to people.
In 2017, I secured a prestigious Health Education England (HEE)/ National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) studentship completing a Master's in Clinical Research (MClinRes) at the University of Plymouth (First-class degree). I was awarded a research internship and worked as a research dietitian at University Hospitals Plymouth until 2021, and Specialist Dietitian in IBD/Gastroenterology until 2022 to work fulltime in my freelance business.
I have a number of papers published on the management of coeliac disease. I have completed the King's College London Low FODMAP course and using this advanced dietetic approach have successfully advised numerous clients with IBS.
When faced with illness or a specific health concern, or simply looking to improve overall gut health, interpreting complex information and advice about diet can require specialist help and support which I can provide in a non-judgemental, supportive and empathetic way.
