About me

I am a Senior Orthopaedic Consultant to the Portsmouth Group of hospitals. I have done 800 hip and knee replacements in the last 3 years and in the region of 120 knee arthroscopic procedures per year. My revision rate is only 1% over the last 5 years for total hip replacements . This is within the top 5% of surgeons in the UK. and 2.2% for total knee replacements (National average 2.6%).
My specialist training included a fellowship in lower limb joint reconstruction at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in the USA
I have been involved in the design of 2 hip replacements and an advisor on 1 knee replacement system.
I now offer the new piriformis muscle sparing approach for hip replacement
I was one of the first surgeons to use custom patient specific knee replacements in the UK.
I am a validated MAKO robot assisted hip and knee replacement surgeon.
